Coming of Age in Tomorrow’s World

Coming of age is a threshold moment—a transition from dependence to autonomy. It involves not just biological maturity, but the development of identity, the formation of relationships, and the navigation of social roles. While traditionally marked by milestones like graduation, employment, or leaving home, today’s coming-of-age experiences are far more fragmented, nonlinear, and culturally diverse. In this project, as part of ’Sustainable Solutions’, we aim to design a speculative product or service that can guide and support youth transitions 15 years into the future. We approach coming of age as a moment of transformation that can be intentionally shaped through design.
